DESCRIPTION:
World Day of Slavery Abolition marks the anniversary of December 2, 1807 Act Prohibiting Importation of Slaves becoming Federal Law in the United States. This act abolished the international slave trade in the country, but did not end the practice.
On this day the UN moves to resolve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as a roadmap for stamping out the root causes of slavery and freeing all enslaved people in the world.
